It’s A Little About Hydroponic Gardening

Hydroponic is a gardening method without soil as media, but using nutrition mineral solution or other substance that content of food nourishment, such as: coconut fiber, charcoal, sand, sawdust, and the other substance.

Hydroponic gardening is a solution when there is no land to cultivate or growing the plants, as example: at the crowded city, infertile field, desert, toxic soil, etc. It can doing at home as hobby, or at large place for commercial purpose.

Many advantages of using hydroponics gardening, are:
Familiar with nature
1. Not damage the soil
2. Ability to examine their root growth
3. Watering more efficient
4. More economical, both water or fertilizer
5. No more manpower
6. No more insect problem
7. Can grow everywhere and every time..

There are two kinds of hydroponics technique; using solution and using media.
The solution method doesn't needed hard media to root's growth, only using nutrition mineral solution is enough. Whereas, the media method depends on its kind, which one to use. You can use coconut fiber, charcoal, sand, sawdust, etc. as the substitute of soil.

Static Solution Technique
The old technique, was founded in the middle of 15th century by Aztec nation.
In this technique, plant propagated at the specific media, such as: plastic bucket, sink or tank. Commonly, the solution is irrigated slowly. If isn't irrigated, the solution level must be kept that so plant will get the oxygen easier.

Water Solution Technique
It is a hydroponics method which using continuously irrigated some nutritional solution to plant.
Nutritional solution is irrigating from the big tank passes the plant's root. One of water solution techniques that most used is NFT (Nutrient Film Technique), this technique using artificial channel made from stainless plate, and the plant will propagated at there.

Media Aggregate Technique
It is using growth media, such as: sand, gravel, charcoal, brick, and the other media.
Those media must be sterilized first before use to prevent bacteria's growth. Media aggregate technique is using pipe to irrigating the nutrition mineral solution to the plant.
